Destry comes to Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy with over 20 years of prior experience in the law enforcement community. While a police officer, he taught D.A.R.E. for 14 years. He was involved in N.O.V.A. While serving in that capacity, he was a School Resource Officer. He was involved in the Critical Incident Team. After retiring, he continued his interest in human behavior by working with youth in Residential Treatment Facilities. He is a Life Coach for Live On Purpose, with Dr. Paul Jenkins as his mentor. He advocates and is a practitioner for Stephen Covey's concepts and the Arbinger Institute principles, a critical part of Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy philosophy.
