Dave Gardiner, M.Ed.

Academic Director

David was born and raised in Utah. He grew up in Hurricane, where he learned to love reading, writing, football, soccer and mischief. David earned a B.A. in English Education and a M.Ed. in leadership and administration from Southern Utah University. While working on his undergraduate degree, he was frequently on the Dean's List and became a member of Sigma Tau Delta--the National English Honor Society. While working on his graduate degree, David maintained a 4.0 so that he could preach to kids about allowing education to prepare them for their futures. Before coming to Mountain Springs, David taught at Dugway High School, a public school located on a United States Army post. After his first year at Dugway, David was honored by Dugway's principal, as well as the Tooele School District's superintendent, for helping ninety-eight percent of his students to achieve proficiency in English, which helped Dugway High to become ranked as the second highest achieving school in the state. The local newspaper honored him with an article detailing his teaching philosophy and techniques. David jumped at the opportunity to teach at Mountain Springs because he wanted to teach at an institution where he believed he could truly help kids to learn and grow beyond the classroom. After several years of teaching English and P.E. at MSPA, David is excited to be the Academic Director and to apply himself to helping Mountain Springs grow in new and exciting ways. Outside of school Dave loves spending time with his wife, Ashley and their two children.
