Barry Ricks serves as an Advisor at Mountain Spring Preparatory Academy (MSPA), where he is passionate about helping teens navigate their education, develop confidence, and discover their potential. Before joining MSPA, Barry gained extensive experience as a high school Special Education teacher, giving him a strong background in supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them overcome challenges.  Barry earned his Bachelors of Communications from Brigham Young University, Idaho.  

Barry especially enjoys working with teenagers and building meaningful relationships that help students feel seen, supported, and encouraged to succeed. He believes that every student has unique strengths and talents, and he enjoys being part of their journey as they discover and develop those strengths.

Outside of work, Barry is a husband and father of five. When he's not working with students, he enjoys all things geeky, wildlife photography, and musical theatre. He loves finding opportunities to learn, explore, and share those interests with his family and the students he works with.
