Gary Cowart

Math Teacher

Gary was born and raised in Beaumont Texas. He moved to Utah in 1976 to Spanish Fork where he graduated in 1978. Gary was All-State in football and baseball both years, and was a state champion in the Javelin competition. After graduation he had a full ride scholarship to many schools. Gary played baseball for Southern Utah University for four years. He held the home run record for 22 years. He is still third on the list. After his Junior season, he made the All-American team. Gary graduated in 1983 with a degree in Math and Physical Education. He eventually got a degree in Driver's Education as well. He met his wife and got married in 1983. He has been married ever since (almost 36 years). Gary has 10 grandchildren. He has taught high school math for 35 years, Driver's Ed for 23 years, and was also the head baseball coach for 9 years. Gary has been a total athlete all his life. He still loves the outdoors. His most favorite hobby is Archery. He is sponsored by Martin Archery, Spot Hogg Archery, Gold Tip Archery, Bee Stinger Archery, and Vane Tec Archery. Gary has traveled all over the country for competitions where he does quite well.
