Karli Orton

Executive Chef

Mountain Springs is incredibly fortunate to have Executive Chef Karli Orton leading our kitchen. From the moment she joined our team, Karli brought not only an impressive culinary background but also a genuine passion for creating memorable meals that bring people together.

Karli graduated Summa Cum Laude from the International Culinary School at the Art Institutes in 2011 and continued her culinary education with a semester-long study abroad program in Italy, where she immersed herself in the country's rich food traditions. Her talent and dedication opened doors to some amazing opportunities, including assisting Food Network star Kelsey Nixon with the writing of a cookbook, completing an internship with the Food Network, and even touring with Bravo's Top Chef as they promoted a new season.

Her professional journey is just as impressive. Karli became the youngest Sous Chef at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, helped launch a new restaurant, and later served as Executive Chef at the Leonardo Museum, where she oversaw catering for everything from intimate gatherings to large events featuring elegant six-course food and wine menus. After returning home to Cedar City, she continued her career as Executive Chef at the Courtyard by Marriott, where she first crossed paths with the CERTS team while catering a graduation celebration.

We truly don't know how we got so lucky to have Karli at Mountain Springs, but we are grateful every day. Her creativity, talent, and heart shine through in every meal she prepares. Students and staff regularly rave about the delicious food she creates, and anyone who attended our recent Academic Conference knows exactly what we're talking about. In fact, for many attendees, Karli's incredible menu was the highlight of the day!

Karli's passion for hospitality and commitment to excellence make our community a warmer, happier, and much tastier place. We're proud to celebrate her and the wonderful difference she makes every single day.
